Today

It's September 11th, 2009. 8 years later.

I still remember what I was doing this day in 2001. One of the developers walked in and mentioned that a plane had hit one of the World Trade Towers in NYC. Went online and found coverage from the BBC. Needless to say I didn't do much work that morning. To this day there is still rage inside me.

Three years ago I took part in Project 2996 with a memorial of Kathy Bantis. For some reason I managed to miss the fact that they were doing memorials again this year.

Please take some time today and read the memorials at Project 2996.

Never forget.

Do you remember?

I still do. 9/11/2001 still seems like it was yesterday.

Planes crashing, people jumping, towers falling, me crying.

I remember prayer, hope, and sacrifice. I remember the quiet of the days afterward when no planes were in the air.

I remember the sonic boom when two Illinois Air National Guard planes went supersonic because some idiot ignored the no fly rule. I remember Thing1 being scared as he thought another attack was underway.

I remember people being proud to be Americans and flying their flags.

I will always remember Kathy Bantis.

Please don't forget the 2996.

I hope I never forget.

I remember

I remember getting up that morning and heading off to work. Three people from my group were at a conference so I had to run some meetings. I was sitting in my office creating some slides when one of the other people on the floor said that he had heard on the drive in that a plane had hit one of the World Trade Center towers.

I remember looking for a live video feed to see what what going on in NYC.

I remember seeing the second tower hit.

I remember calling my wife to tell her to turn on the TV to see whats going on.

I remember seeing people jump...

I remember seeing fire fighters head into the towers

I remember seeing the aftermath of the attack on the Pentagon

I remember seeing the towers fall

I remember crying

I remember seeing the crash site of United 93

I remember Kathy Bantis

I remember getting home and hugging my kids and my wife

I remember September 11th, 2001

I will not forget

I will not submit
